Gloria Begué Cantón (1931-2016) was a prominent Spanish professor of Political Economy and Public Finance at the University of Salamanca. She became the first female professor in a law faculty and the fourth woman to attain a chair in Spain in 1964. In 1969, she was elected the first female dean of a Spanish university. Additionally, she served as a senator in the constituent legislature and as a magistrate of the Constitutional Court, where she became vice-president from 1986 to 1989. Begué was recognized for her significant contributions to academia and law.
