A graduate of North High School and the University of Minneapolis, she also studied at Harvard Business School. Segal had a notable career in the investment business and served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1983 until 1992. She was a member of the Democratic Party and resigned due to health complications from brain cancer, passing away on October 27, 1993.
