Gomer Thomas Jones was an American football player and coach, recognized for his contributions to college football. He played as a center at Ohio State University from 1933 to 1935. After spending 17 years as an assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma under Bud Wilkinson, Jones served as head coach for two seasons. He also held the position of athletic director at Oklahoma until his death in 1971. His legacy was honored with induction into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1978.
