He is best known for his extensive collaboration with director Eloy de la Iglesia, where he served as a screenwriter and occasional producer for films produced between 1977 and 1987. Goicoechea's contributions to cinema during this period have made him a notable figure in Spanish film history. His career was cut short when he passed away on February 7, 2009, in Madrid.
