Gorun Manolescu is a Romanian engineer, writer, and essayist born on October 22, 1938, in Bucharest. He graduated in Oil and Gas Exploitation from the Institute of Oil, Gas and Geology in Bucharest in 1960. He is a PhD engineer and a researcher in information technology. Since 2002, he has been a full member of the Romanian Committee for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, and from 2002 until 2018 served as the chief editor of the journal NOEMA. He has been affiliated with the Mihai Drăgănescu Institute of Artificial Intelligence since 2015.
