Ernst Gösta Lext (1912–1988) was a Swedish archivist, known for his work at various landsarkiv (regional archives) in Sweden. He earned his PhD in 1950 and served as the provincial archivist in Gothenburg from 1958 to 1977. Lext published notable works on Swedish church archives, census records prior to 1860, and Swedish emigration to North America. He was elected to the Society for the Publication of Manuscripts Relating to Scandinavian History in 1957. His contributions to archival science and historical research mark his legacy.
