Gotfred Ingolf Kvifte was a Norwegian physicist, born in 1914 in Froland, Aust-Agder. He earned his dr.philos. degree in 1953 and began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Bergen for one year. Subsequently, he became a professor at the Norwegian College of Agriculture, a position he held from 1954 until 1984. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Kvifte served as rector of the college from 1961 to 1968, contributing significantly to the development of agricultural sciences in Norway.
