Graa Boomsma is a Dutch writer and poet born on February 15, 1953, in Nieuwe Niedorp. He studied general literature at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and worked as a literature critic for the communist newspaper De Waarheid from 1978 to 1983. His poetry debut was in the magazine Mandala in 1980. Notably, Boomsma's novel 'De laatste tyfoon' (1992) received significant attention. He has also translated works, including those of American writer James Purdy. Recently, he has critiqued teaching methods in literature and is working on a new book.
