Souness represented the Scottish national team from 1974 to 1986, earning 54 caps. His managerial career started at Rangers in 1986, with subsequent roles at Liverpool, Galatasaray, Southampton, Torino, Benfica, Blackburn Rovers, and Newcastle United.
