Graham Watkins is an American novelist born in April 1944 in Lexington, Kentucky. He studied biology at the University of Kentucky and played tenor saxophone and other instruments to support his studies. Watkins pursued graduate education at Duke University, obtaining a master's and began a PhD but left due to anti-war protests. He worked various jobs, eventually returning to academia, and engaged in computer programming. He now repairs and installs pipe organs in churches and universities while writing novels in his spare time, residing in Durham, North Carolina.
