Graydon Poe Eggers Sr. (1903-1994) was an American college athletics coach and English professor. He was the first head football coach at Appalachian State Normal School in 1928, finishing with a 3-6 record. He also served as head basketball coach for one season in 1944-45, with a 6-13 record. Eggers, a native of Watauga County, North Carolina, had a significant impact at the university from 1927 to 1970 and specialized in translating Middle English, publishing a notable translation in 1955.
