Gregory Olin Cook (1958-2005) was an American basketball player known for his defensive skills. He played for the LSU Tigers, achieving notable statistics in his freshman season (11.5 points, 9.2 rebounds). Cook contributed to his team's success, winning an SEC tournament championship in 1980 and reaching the NCAA Final Four in 1981. Selected 40th overall by the New York Knicks in the 1981 NBA draft, he never played in the NBA but had a brief stint in the CBA with the Wyoming Wildcatters. He passed away at the age of 46.
