Greg Mankiw is an American macroeconomist born on February 3, 1958. He holds the Robert M. Beren Professorship of Economics at Harvard University and is known for his work in New Keynesian economics. Mankiw has extensively published on economics and economic policy and ranks as one of the most influential economists worldwide. He is a best-selling author and writes a popular blog as well as a monthly column for The New York Times. Mankiw is also recognized for his advisory roles to Republican politicians, including two years as the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President George W. Bush.
