Gregorio Urkaregi Madariaga was a prominent Basque physician and cultural figure, born on December 24, 1909, in Begoña, Bizkaia. He served as the home doctor in Begoña for 56 years. Additionally, he was one of the founders of the Euzko Ikasle Batza cultural association in 1932 and served as the president of the Begoñako sports club for two seasons, from 1950 to 1952.
