Gregory M. Erickson, Ph.D., is a paleobiologist at Florida State University, known for his extensive research on the ontogeny and growth patterns of alligators and dinosaurs, particularly the theropod Tyrannosaurus rex. He has named and described several dinosaur genera, including Guanlong (2006) and Limusaurus (2009), and strongly supports the idea that birds originated from dinosaurs. Erickson has appeared in the BBC program 'The Truth About Killer Dinosaurs', where he calculated the bite force of Tyrannosaurus rex, and contributed to the Discovery Channel's 'Science Of Sex Appeal' about dinosaur reproduction.
