Grete Jensen was a Danish ceramicist born on March 15, 1906, and died on November 12, 1935, in Copenhagen. She was the daughter of schoolteacher Elise Hansen and painter Peter Hansen. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, she co-founded the pottery firm 'Hans og Grete Keramik' with her cousin Hans Syberg in 1928. Grete was renowned for her playful designs and decors on ceramics, influencing the aesthetic of contemporary artistic design. Despite her untimely death at age 29, she remains one of the prominent ceramicists of her time.
