Gülten Akın (1933-2015) was a renowned Turkish poet and writer born in Yozgat, Istanbul. She completed her education at Ankara University, graduating from the law faculty. Akın lived in various Anatolian towns due to her husband's job and held several roles including lawyer and educator. Her poetry often reflects nature, love, and societal issues, evolving to address social problems later in her career. She published her first poem in 1951 and collected her works in 1983. Many of her poems were set to music, and she was posthumously voted the best poet.
