Gunilla Borén is a Swedish librarian, children's book author, and translator born on January 8, 1937, in Halmstad. She earned her degree in philosophy in Lund in 1960 and completed her library studies in 1962. Borén worked as a librarian at Borås City Library from 1961 to 1974, then as a lecturer and later head of the Library School at the University of Borås. She was also a child book reviewer for Dagens Nyheter during the 1980s and 1990s and has recently focused on translating children's literature.
