Gwen Foster, also known as Gwyn Foster, was an American Old-Time musician born on December 25, 1903, in Edgemont, North Carolina. He is regarded as one of the most virtuoso harmonica players in the folk music scene, despite his lack of widespread recognition. Foster is best known for his recordings with guitarist and banjo player Clarence Ashley, as well as with the Carolina Tar Heels. His lesser-known works include recordings with David O. Fletcher. He passed away on November 25, 1954, in Dallas, North Carolina.
