Gyula Kosice, born Fernando Fallik, was an Argentine sculptor, plastic artist, theorist, and poet, recognized as a precursor of kinetic and light art. Born on April 26, 1924, in Košice, he emigrated to Argentina with his family at the age of four. He adopted the name of his birthplace as his artistic name and became a key figure in the development of abstract non-figurative art in Latin America. Kosice held 40 solo and over 500 collective exhibitions globally and authored 15 books of essays and poetry.
