Gürsu graduated in 1984 from the Industrial Design program at Middle East Technical University and completed his master's degree in architecture, earning a PhD in urban planning in 1996. He teaches industrial design courses at METU and is the design director at Designnobis. His work promotes eco-friendliness with innovations like water desalination and the use of gel batteries.
