Hakob Ayntaplyan is an Armenian physician and cardiologist born on December 18, 1939, in Aleppo, Syria. He obtained his Doctorate in Medical Sciences in 1967 and became a professor in 1978. Following the devastating earthquake in Armenia on December 7, 1988, he served as the vice-president of the American philanthropic body formed in response, overseeing the medical assistance committee.
