Halim Doğrusöz (1922-2019) was a prominent Turkish mechanical engineer and academic, known for introducing the term 'operations research' into Turkish. He graduated from Bursa Men's High School in 1941 and from Istanbul Technical University in 1948. He held various positions at the Electrical Works Survey Administration and later worked at Mobil Oil. He contributed to the establishment of research institutes in Turkey, served as a director at SIBREN, and held academic roles at several universities, including ODTÜ and Bilkent University. He passed away on March 9, 2019.
