Haluk Savaş (March 2, 1966 - June 30, 2020) was a Turkish academic and psychiatrist, specializing in bipolar disorder. He worked as a lecturer at Gaziantep University School of Medicine from 2000 to 2016. After the coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, he was dismissed from his position under a statutory decree but was later acquitted in court. While diagnosed with cancer during his detention, he faced delays in treatment due to travel restrictions. Savaş became a symbol for legal struggles faced by public servants dismissed under similar circumstances.
