Han Lih-wu was a prominent Chinese educator, politician, and diplomat, born on January 26, 1903, in Anhui. He graduated from Nanjing University, the University of London, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Han held several significant positions, including deputy minister of education and director of the National Palace Museum. He played a critical role during the Kuomintang's retreat to Taiwan in 1949, moving important artworks. Han served as an ambassador to multiple countries, including Thailand and the Philippines, and was an adviser to Chiang Kai-shek until 1956. He passed away on February 26, 1991.
