Hanka Jelínková, born on February 6, 1961, in Prague, is a Czech writer, translator, entrepreneur, and educator. She studied high school, then automated control systems at the Czech Technical University in Prague, and later pedagogics at Charles University. She owns the publishing house Naše kniha and a language school called The Redbrick House. Jelínková has translated three novels by British author Nick Hornby and is known for her rhymes and children's stories, including a fairy tale titled 'Šimon a štěňátko Bára'.
