Hande Kader was a Turkish sex worker and political activist who became known for her leadership in LGBTQ+ movements following her prominent role in protests against police violence during Istanbul's Pride March in 2015. After being reported missing in August 2016, her body was found mutilated and burned, leading to public outrage and protests against the mistreatment of LGBTQ+ individuals in Turkey. She was 23 at the time of her tragic death, which remains officially unexplained.
