Hank Skinner (April 4, 1962 – February 16, 2023) was a convicted American prisoner sentenced to death for a triple homicide. He spent about 28 years in the Allan B. Polunsky Unit following the 1993 murders of his girlfriend, Twila Busby, and her two mentally disabled sons. Skinner claimed he was unconscious on the sofa due to substance abuse at the time of the crime. Despite the lack of DNA evidence presented by his defense, he was convicted in 1995. His execution was delayed multiple times, and he died in 2023 following complications from a brain tumor surgery.
