Hannes Aiginger, born Johannes Aiginger on April 12, 1937, in Vienna, is an Austrian scientist who significantly influenced Austrian research policy. As a university professor at the Atominstitut at the Technical University of Vienna, he continued to contribute to the field even after his retirement in 2005. He is known for his role in the establishment of the MedAustron center, which focuses on proton and carbon ion therapy.
