Hans Brattskar is a Norwegian civil servant born on July 1, 1956. He has served as an ambassador in Sri Lanka and as an advisor for the UN. Starting from 2008, he leads the Norwegian government's climate and rainforest project. He was also the state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2015. Educated as a civil economist and political scientist in the USA, he has been part of the Norwegian foreign service since 1986.
