Hans-Georg Mehlhorn was a German educational psychologist and researcher in talent and creativity, born on June 22, 1940, in Gera, and passed away on November 17, 2011, in St. Gallen. He served as department head at the Central Institute for Youth Research in East Germany and was a professor of educational psychology at the Leipzig University of Music from 1985 to 1993. After reunification, he co-founded various school projects with his wife, Gerlinde Mehlhorn, leading to the establishment of BIP creativity schools and kindergartens in Saxony, Thuringia, and Berlin.
