Hans Saler, born on November 2, 1947, in Munich, is a renowned extreme mountaineer and world sailor. He started climbing challenging alpine walls at the age of 14 and became one of Europe’s best climbers in the late 1960s. Saler participated in the notable Nanga Parbat expedition. Afterward, he ventured to Australia and constructed a trimaran, traversing 10,000 kilometers to South Africa. He also accomplished the first ascent of Dhaulagiri III in 1973 and journeyed along the Camino de Santiago, contributing to the revival of this pilgrimage route. He currently resides in Pucón, Chile, with his wife.
