Hans Steger was a German politician affiliated with the CDU. Born on February 9, 1922, in Vilich-Rheindorf, he began his career as a heating and ventilation technician. Steger became a member of the Beuel City Council in 1951 and served as the Mayor of Beuel from 1961 to 1969. He then held the position of Mayor of Bonn until 1989. He was honored as an honorary citizen of Bonn in October 1989 and received the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1990. He is commemorated through the Hans-Steger-Ufer named after him in 2000.
