Harcharan Singh Brar was an Indian politician affiliated with the Congress Party. Born on January 22, 1922, in Sarai Naga, he served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from August 31, 1995, until November 21, 1996, succeeding the assassinated Beant Singh. Additionally, Brar held gubernatorial positions in Orissa and Haryana between 1977 and 1979. He passed away on September 6, 2009, in Chandigarh at the age of 87, after a prolonged illness.
