Harini Amarasuriya is a Sri Lankan academic, rights activist, university lecturer, and politician. Serving as a National List MP for the National People's Power party since 2019, she is known for her research on youth unemployment, gender inequality, child protection, and the inefficiencies in the Sri Lankan education system. A centre-left liberal, she has also served as a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Studies at the Open University of Sri Lanka and holds a position on the Board of Directors for the NGO, Nest.
