Harold A. Goolishian was an American psychologist and a pioneer in family therapy. He served as a long-time chair of Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Goolishian was regarded as a leading figure in the narrative approach to systemic therapy and co-founded the Galveston Family Institute in Texas in 1977, alongside notable colleagues including Harlene Anderson, Paul Dell, and George Pulliam.
