Harold Dean Kesling was an American orthodontist, born on April 8, 1901, who developed the Positioner, a tooth positioning appliance used in orthodontics for settling teeth in occlusion at the end of treatment. He pioneered clear aligner therapy and founded TP Orthodontics, Inc. in 1959. Kesling was influenced by Raymond Begg's techniques, promoting the Begg method for several decades and giving numerous seminars. He earned his dental degree from Loyola University Chicago and opened orthodontic practices in Indiana. He passed away in 1979.
