Harold Osborne was a British professor, writer, and art critic, born in Wakefield, Yorkshire in March 1905. He co-founded the British Society of Aesthetics in July 1960 along with Sir Herbert Read, promoting discussions and research in art. He served as the editor of The British Journal of Aesthetics from 1960 to 1977. Osborne authored significant works including 'Aesthetics and Art Theory - An Historical Introduction' and 'The Art of Appreciation', which are critical to art education and criticism in major Brazilian universities. He passed away in Switzerland in March 1987.
