Harry Blackmore Whittington (March 24, 1916 - June 20, 2010) was a prominent paleontologist from Great Britain. Over his 60-year career, he focused on the study of fossil arthropods, particularly trilobites, examining their morphology, ecology, and the stratigraphy of Cambrian deposits. His research significantly contributed to the understanding of Burgess Shale fauna and the Cambrian explosion. He advised notable figures like Derek Briggs and Simon Conway Morris, presenting new theories about Burgess Shale fossils. Among his numerous accolades, he received the 2001 international Prize in Paleontology and the Wollaston Medal in the same year.
