Harry Clive Minnett OBE was an influential Australian physicist and radio engineer, born on 12 June 1917. He is renowned for co-discovering Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, alongside Jack Piddington. Additionally, Minnett significantly contributed to the construction of the Parkes Radio Telescope. His outstanding contributions to science earned him the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1972 and he was elected as a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 1976. He passed away on 20 December 2003.
