Harry Volpe (born Onofrio Volpe) was a pioneering jazz guitarist and music publisher born on April 7, 1904. He was recognized for his significant contributions to the early development of plectrum guitar in jazz, collaborating with early virtuoso guitarists. Notably, he recorded duets with Frank Victor in 1936 and played with Django Reinhardt during the latter's first visit to the US in 1946. Volpe also founded a music publishing company and introduced the Harry Volpe Epiphone guitar in 1955. He had a long career in writing guitar instruction books, influencing future generations of guitarists.
