Harutyun Mkrtchyan was an Armenian writer and literary scholar, born on April 15, 1903, in Paykhnar, Ottoman Empire. He made significant contributions to literature and was recognized as a distinguished figure in science in the Armenian SSR in 1963. He earned a doctorate in philological sciences in 1975 and became a professor in 1968. Mkrtchyan was a member of the Union of Soviet Writers from 1934 until 1991 and also served as a participant in World War II. He passed away on November 15, 1992, in Yerevan, Armenia.
