Hasan Aliyev was an Azerbaijani academic and scholar, notable for his contributions to social and political life in Azerbaijan. He served as the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture from 1952, and held the position of Vice Academic at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan from 1952 to 1957. Aliyev was also a member of various scientific and geographic societies. He directed the Geography Institute named after him from 1968 to 1987 and was recognized as an Honored Figure in the Azerbaijan SSR in 1974.
