Sterling Haskel 'Hack' Ayers was an American auctioneer and politician from Tennessee, serving in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1967 to 1968 as a Republican. He represented Campbell and Scott Counties and founded Ayers Auction & Real Estate in LaFollette, where he lived. His contributions to the auction profession were recognized with his induction into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, where he also served as president. Ayers passed away at the age of 83 on January 8, 2020.
