He gained recognition for his contribution to Turkish folk music, particularly through his skillful play of the Saz, a traditional stringed instrument. Unfortunately, Gültekin's life was cut short when he passed away on July 2, 1993, in Sivas, at a young age, leaving behind a legacy cherished by his admirers and the Alevi music community.
