She earned degrees in nutrition and communication and worked with Grace Kitchens, establishing the television program 'Creative Cooking' to share nutritional advice nationwide. In addition to her journalism, she wrote a weekly sex column for The Gleaner. After serving as a nutrition consultant for the Jamaica national football team, she became paralyzed from the waist down due to a shooting during a robbery attempt.
