Hector Luis Fautario was an Argentine Air Force general who served as the General Commander from 1973 to 1975. He was known for his staunch opposition to the repressive actions of the Army and Navy, especially during the onset of the 1976 Argentine coup d'état. Fautario was the last loyal senior officer to the government and faced severe criticism for his refusal to deploy the Air Force against guerrilla strongholds. His actions positioned him as an obstacle to General Jorge Rafael Videla's rise to power.
