Heera Saraniya, also known as Nab Kumar Saraniya, is an Indian politician born on May 1, 1969. He served as an independent member of the Lok Sabha representing the Kokrajhar constituency in Assam from 2014 to 2019. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Gana Suraksha Party, which he founded and leads. Saraniya is notable for winning the highest recorded margin as an independent candidate in Assam's electoral history. He was previously the commander of the 709 battalion of the ULFAs and is considered one of Assam's most feared militants.
