Throughout his career in the SM-sarja, he represented Tampereen Tappara between 1963 and 1965, and Helsingfors IFK in the 1965-1966 season. Koskimies played a total of 30 matches, accumulating one assist and ten penalty minutes before his passing on April 12, 2024, in Helsinki.
