Helen Barbara Kruger, also known as Bobbie Nudie, was an American apparel designer and retailer born on July 29, 1913, in Mankato, Minnesota. She and her husband, Nudie Cohn, opened Nudie's for the Ladies in 1934, selling lingerie to showgirls. They created iconic rhinestone-studded costumes for stars like Elvis Presley, Cher, and John Lennon. After Nudie's death in 1984, Kruger continued the business until it closed in 1994. She passed away on April 7, 2006, at the age of 92 and is interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills).
